Andrew Jackson Waychoff was superintendent of schools-1887 and "Vice President of Waynesburg College for many years". He was the first President of the Greene County Historical Society and the author of Local History of Greene County and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Challen W. Waychoff, son of Prof. A. J. and Samantha Mundell Waychoff, was born July 10, 1876, in Cumberland township. He was graduated from Waynesburg College June 8, 1899 and read law in the office of Robinson F. Downey. He was admitted to the Greene County bar Sept 30, 1901 and became one of the outstanding trial lawyers of the area. He is also eligible to practice in the U.S. District Courts, Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Court, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, U. S. Supreme Court and the Tax Court of theUnited States. For many years he was a law partner with his brother W.Robert Waychoff, and R. Wallace Maxwell, and is now in partnership with his son, A.W. Waychoff in the law firm of Waychoff & Waychoff. He was elected president judge in 1935 and served from the first Monday of January 1936 until the first Monday of January 1946. He married Nora West, daughter of David K. and Laura Zook West. April 12, 1900. He is the father of three children: Kathryn Waychoff Irvine, Carolyn Waychoff Ulema, and A. W. Waychoff.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR LOCAL MAN'S MOTHER IN PENNA. Mrs. A.J. Waychoff, Mother of C.W. Waychoff, Dies Following Period of Illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Waynesburg, Pa., for Mrs. Cemantha Mundell Waychoff, 84, mother of C.C. Waychoff, of this city, who was in Waynesburg at the time of his mother's death, and widow of
Prof. Andrew J. Waychoff, for many years an instructor in Waynesburg College.
Mrs. Waychoff, one of the most widely known and highly respected women in Greene county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. Hill, following a period of illness. Death was due to disease incident to her advanced age.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Chapel for Clyde C. Waychoff, 71, 109 North St., who died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 11:15 a.m. Thursday [March 2,1950] in Cleveland Clinic where he had gone that morning for a weekly treatment. Though he had been in ill health for several years, his death came as an unexpected shock to his family and to the community.
Mr. Waychoff was born in Waynesburg, Pa., Aug.7, 1878, son of Cemantha and Andrew J. Waychoff, and was educated in the Waynesburg schools and college. He was married Dec. 13, 1899, to Stella Huffman in Jefferson, Pa. The couple lived in Brownsville, Pa., until 1911 when they moved to Bellevue [Ohio] where Mr. Waychoff was a Nickel Plate conductor until his retirement a number of years ago.

Mrs. Estella A. Waychoff, 84, formerly of Bellevue, died Sunday in the Colvin Nursing Home, Clyde, [Ohio], where she had been a patient since 1958. A native of Greene County, Pa., she was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, a son, two sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Bellevue.
